El compacto Suzuki DF140BG está propulsado por un motor DOHC de 16 válvulas y 2.045 cc con un eje de transmisión desplazado del cigüeñal. Esto permite una primera reducción entre el eje de transmisión y el eje de transmisión y una segunda reducción entre el eje de transmisión y la caja de cambios dentro del pie.
El DF140BG está equipado con tecnología drive-by-wire, que hace que la navegación sea más fluida y cómoda gracias a un cable eléctrico que traduce cada movimiento en tiempo real en un comando a los actuadores externos. Éstos, actuando con extrema fluidez y precisión sobre el gas y la caja de cambios, eliminan todas las fricciones y reducen el consumo.
